Action Star Jet Li in Action
After the 5.12 earthquake in Sichuan, China, supports have come from Chinese people both at home and abroad. Action star Jet Li, an ambassador for the Red Cross Society of China, and the founder of One Foundation, rushed to the disaster area on May 17.
The next morning, together with many volunteers and more than 20 large trucks loaded with relief supplies, Jet Li arrived at Shifang Ying-hua town after driving over 4 hours in the mountains. He has been fighting in the front line with many other volunteers from One Foundation.
One Foundation Sichuan rescue work started officially on the 18th. The professional psychologists from One Foundation formed a medical team and stayed in Chengdu, while Jet Li and some volunteers brought relief materials to the disaster area, Shifang Ying-hua town. The arrival of the international superstar caused no small stir. Jet Li sincerely apologized for the chaos he caused. In order not to delay the normal disaster relief work, Jet Li left immediately after his team unloaded the relief supplies, although he said he wished to work with the local volunteers for the rescue mission.
Later that afternoon, Jet Li and his team arrived at another relief supply center. Jet Li worked together with other volunteers carrying rice and tents…… The media and local people were greatly moved by his action.

One Foundation will make the greatest effort to support our families with the support and assistance from the Red Cross at all levels. We will not only focus on the present rescue work but also on the future rebuild." after witnessing the disaster areas and the difficult living conditions of earthquake victims, he also encouraged victims to rebuild their homeland to start a new life.
